Haven't seen any discussion of this one. There is a Unicorn focus with Naleesh talking about Min-hee and the duel. Dairuko shows her weakness in this fiction. She's had a heck of a buildup [Dairuko] but poor actions such as those will end her reign quickly.

Such as what? The Lion are in the best position to help with the raids on the Ki Rin's path. If that becomes too risky we would be forced to go through the mantis to reach the colonies. The Lion also need to know what sort of threat these bandits will pose to the empire given they are using Yodotai tactics. Last but not least some way of helping relations with the Unicorn who control the trade route. Simply put I think Naleesh is the one who made the bad decision here turning down the help.

sorry...i'm one of those who think min-hee has to die before relations between the lion and unicorn can be friendly. the story team messed up imo by not letting it rest at Shigetoshi and Chen. But they had to take it one step more. Now if they want to really grind our teeth then they should have Min-Hee seppuku before we have a chance to kill her. That would end it with the Unicorn being ontop.

Dairuko should not forgive the death of her brother. It should be open season on Min-Hee. Her head would make an excellent trophy. What Dairuko should be doing is while the Unicorn is distracted with the bandits we need to march in and take Shiro Iuchi.

You could well be right, I need a full account of what went on in the duel. Depending on the situation it could have been that it was a legitimate duel in which case the matter would be settled.

It may have also have been that Dairuko decided that investigating the Yodotai was more important than the duel. So I don't really know if it was a good message from Dairuko.

Really I want some of these loose historical plot lines to be filled in, I mean most characters in the setting knows what happened in the duel and in the war of the twins, or why the Phoenix and Lion are at odds but we don't which makes it very hard to know the context every decision is being made in.

It was Shigetoshi's fault for wording it poorly, and Min-hee's decision to abuse it.

I'm tired of this feud, so I'm just going to shrug and see what happens rather than allow myself further emotional investment in the matter.

It depends on if you count it as a continuation with the Unicorn's brief stint as the Right Hand during Jade.

Holy crab your right. I had completely forgotten about that. But for me that time was still ruled by our prior feuding with the Crane. While some may say the end to the feud began with the death of Doji Satsume, I thought Kuwanan and Kurohito did a good job of keeping the tensions strong.

...eh. Honestly, I would expect he Lion and Unicorn to be rubbing elbows uncomfortably. If you think about it, there are three major military powers in the Empire; the Lion, the Unicorn, and the Crab. The Crab are devoted to defending the Wall, and they're geographically distant from both the Lion and Unicorn, so there's not (much) conflict there. However, Unicorn and Lion lands are practically adjacent from each other. Add into that the fact that the Unicorn at one time, for a brief period, held the position of Right Hand of the Emperor, and you get the rivalry you see today. The Lion and the Unicorn are constantly competing to show that they are the preeminent military force in the section of Rokugan that they share. It boils over into outright warfare occasionally, but usually it'll be like a cold war situation; both powers are gathering their military power, looking across the border to see what the other's doing, thinking they're just one step from having to prove that they're the stronger military (and, of coure, desiring to do so). But, the Lion and the Unicorn have and will work together for the defense of the Empire. They just don't really trust one another.

I am proud to be a Black Lion. One of many...

What am I playing now? [still in development]

Personally, Lion versus Unicorn, or Lion versus Phoenix, or Lion versus Crane, I dislike having so many enemies. It is my wish we could have more allies. I understand why things are the way we are.

Perhaps we could seek an alliances. I don't think it's good to be taking everyone on. We don't want to be ganged up on.

I know we are allies with the Crab but what other allies do we have? We could use more allies. Perhaps it is just me.
