So....I was gone at the end of CE, and not quite present yet during the beginning of EE. As such I may have missed something. Why oh why did they kill Shigetoshi's son in a duel with Shinjo Shono's son?...Was it an on-screen death or an off-screen? Was it a Story-Prize from a tournament or something?...As-is all I can say is that it seems like a bitterly disappointing end before an awesome story could even be told.

off screen, he had no character and Shigs got another child, I can't see how it is a story lost. I presume we will get the on screen version eventually and presumably this will lead somewhere.

As someone who enjoyed the Shono/Shigetoshi rivalry, and absolutely loved the conclusion of it, it's just very disappointing to lose out on the son who was going to inherit that responsibility to an off-screen death which, while meaningful in putting the current Champion in place, serves little other than that. I suppose it could be a good story anyway, but a huge part of what I was looking forward to with a time jump was Grown-up Little-Shigs. He was to me as Kanpeki is to the Spider. Sucks to lose out.
