What are these concepts? I have scowered the internet for a too long and have found nothing but a historal battle refering to Black Lions. But develdged no information about their origins or history.

Also I see one of the Mods in this Thread has a banner in his Sig with the Crane and the Lion and the word Unity. In light of this I have put two Courtiers and a Paragon from the Crane into my Lion but this too is a subject I can not find information on. I am an Ikoma but I seem to be failing at my family work lol

any help on this topic would be helpful.

as far as i know black lion is just a player made organization of lion players who are willing to stain their honor to advance the clan. or whatever i'm sure one of them could write a long winded explanation, so i'll leave it to them

the word unity doesn't mean anything past its dictionary definition. basically there's a lion crane alliance. i guess it's sorta existed for quite some time in storyline (at least back to the time of lotus, i believe for most of the diamond story arc and earlier lion and crane were essentially mortal enemies/rivals). so unity is just a word some people use to show their support for the alliance. honestly some of us (like myself) aren't big on said alliance and would love to go back to hating the crane but that's not the current storyline.

So I've actually decided to be a sort of "Black Lion" a while ago, making a Honor Runing Paragon Deck full of both Bushido and Dark Virtues, and Dark Oracle of Fire. I don't know if that counts, but point being do you know who to direct me to so I can find out more about these Black Lions?

Also, Saturday I witnessed the awesome power of Pokku, he came out early and by the end of the game had 3 hats, 2 suits of armor and 4 weapons. The little goblin was awesome. Tempted to find him and put him in my deck, such a simple and yet game changing ability.

i've been telling people to put him in our decks for a long time he's kinda my pet personality. honestly though, he's really most effective if you have a deck with a lot of redirection (duty, imperial command, chugo seido) otherwise he ends up getting killed a lot before he can even take his action.

also i just want to warn you in advance, the black lion guys are anti-shadowlands/taint. i tried to argue in favor of it, but they aren't having any of it

As the Mod who was first to have the two banners, I think I can explain this. First, the Unity banner. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Black Lion. I had that banner made for me by a Crane player, as a reward for contributing to a Crane Honor victory at a Chicago Kotei. I likes me the honorable Lion/Crane combo, personally, so I had it made to suit personal happiness.

As for the Black Lion, you can stop on by the Dark Lion Dojo forum for a lot more information about the Black Lion. It is in fact a player-created thing, representing the part of the Lion Clan that realizes that an army simply has to do some dishonorable things. And the Black Lion is built on the premise that it's members are willing to sacrifice their honor, in addition to the already existing willingness to sacrifice everything else, for the good of the Lion Clan and the Empire of Rokugan. For example, the first Black Lion was Toturi, who was cast out of the honorable ranks of the Lion, but never stopped fighting for the good of the Empire, and was eventually recognized for the heroism he displayed despite his dishonorable tactics at times. *shrug* It's literally an interesting counterbalance to the White Lion, really. Anyway, we'vd love to have a new "member," so stop on by!
