Hi there. For anyone who's interested, here's my Kotei Deck I played in Rotterdam last weekend. I'm really satisfied with this deck, since it provides a lot of possibilities and when played aggressively can put a lot of pressure on your opponent. While most of the cards in the deck are stable, some choices mirror my play style and play testing experience and are therefore only recommended for people with a similar play style. I'm going to write a full tournament report once I find the time for it. If you have any questions about the deck feel free to ask.
I would do some minor changes to the deck after the tournament but since EoW is on its way I'm going to redesign it anyway.

Awesome...I love it. I've been debating on if I should use Strength In Terror due to the honor hit. Did it ever harm you?

I have the same results with Effortless. I've had the card in my deck since before EE released but rarely use it. However I use the hell out of Control.

Great job and nice deck.

Well, Strength in Terror has its drawbacks, especially when it gets you below starting honor. But its really necessary in order to win the kensei or big follower match-up and usually you get some honor after trashing all the big weapons and winning the battle.

i wouldn't sweat the honor hit. i'm playing 4x a paragon's strength and typically only play it for the ranged attack, yet i rarely find myself too low on honor. you just have to play your deck knowing that you'll need a little insulation against your own honor loss. you want to gain some anyway to help pay for kano, dairuko, and hotako anyway.

Hey love the deck can you post the changes you would make to the deck post tournament. It would be very helpful as I am attending a Kotei where Embers of war will not be legal.

Congratulations!!!

I love the tactigon lion build decks. Probably top lion deck in the format right now.

Strength in Terror would be my surprise card here. Didn't even think about it. I switched my 3 A Paragon's Strength for the SinT and found it was a better card. Tks for that.

Would love to see the tourney report.
Peace. :ninja:

Hey guys, did some EoW play testing this week and will do some more at the weekend. After that I'll post my upgraded version of the deck and maybe even find the time to write the promised report. Thanks again for all your congratulations! Lions good. :big grin:

Had a chance to update my deck with EoW as well as adding in Strength in Terror. I wrecked my buddies Watercorn deck that had been eating me alive. My deck is a bit different but the bones of it are the same.

Dynasty wise I dropped Hana and Mirotai and added in the new 6 gold Paragon and the Sensei. I also run 16 gold holdings.

Fate side I dropped the rings for Maga-yari. I dropped Banish all Doubt and Effortless due to the lack of need and added SiT and You are Unworthy.

All night (including my scout deck play, a discussion for a different thread) I got gold screwed. Using both mulligans 1st turn (every damn game) still left me pressed for cash. However the new additions shined. Well except for the Maga-yari which didn't show up all night. It got so bad my bud now hates Hotako with a passion as well as YaU. He also does not like SiT one bit.

One game I was at 9 honor after buying an Akodo Uehara for full with two other Koyama's sitting with Hotako. I had three SiT's in hand. I had just enough gold to buy a Koyama for full and a Remote Village or use my Public Records and buy Hotako. I say hell with it and use Public Records and Uehara to find a Grateful Rewards which I pitch the favor for. I use Shinden Shorai and buy Hotako dropping me to 7. I target his awesome shuga with no attachments he had just brought in the previous turn and Hotako him. I attack and GR drawing into a Consideration. He defends and blows up the follower with Sundering Strike but I'm still grinning because I got the Consideration and was sitting on two The Perfect Moments. On his turn I Hotako his awesome shuga (he's really getting irriated now). He has three peeps and attaches a spell. I Consideration Hotako. He attacks and I don't defend. He takes out Shinden Shorai but leaves the two Koyama's sitting. I TPM with Hotako and he winces. On my turn I don't attack but hurry and buy in both Koyama's lol and draw a Consideration. On his turn he attaches Hunger...cant do anything about that but now I know he's attacking. I Hotako his cool shuga which he has not attached anything too again. He attached a spell to another peep which I dont like so I kill it with YaU. He doesn't like that at all. I Consideration a Koyama. He attacks but I don't defend so he holds back two of his peeps and only sends the one. I Koyama in with Guided and he can't do anything. I now have plenty of honor. I TPM and he winces again. He's looking at gold and a worthless peep so he scoops.

This was pretty much how the night went with the deck. One game I get Uehara and gold then gold and Arata for full, then a bunch of gold and Koyama for full. He has three peeps and sees Hotako waiting to come in. He splits the province with the new card. I Consideration Arata and Koyama. He attacks and I defend one each. I GR both peeps. He sees my evil grin and knowing I have no poker face goes elsewhere with a single unit and takes out another Uehara. My turn I get Hotako and he cusses. I then proceed to wreck him after destroying two of his awesome "kill you and gain force" spells with YaU then hitting him with 2x's Cast Aside the Weak lol.

While I never missed Banish All Doubt I did miss Mirotai as a Kamina never popped all night, giving me a blank SH.
