they said Tim allowed her to stay the champion and that's why she's cheap for the lion...
but I don't know who Tim is
don't know how it matters
don't know how the fluff justifies it
I'm so confused on why she's cheaper for us.

I'm so confused on why she's cheaper for us. tim is akodo arasou. he won the obsidian championship with lion. the obsidian champion is always shadowlands and to date, always spider aligned (being daigotsu's bushi champion, you can imagine why  ). tim had the option of replacing hotaku, in which case the personality would have been a new person who would have been a corrupted former member of the lion clan (since he won with lion). since he didn't want to corrupt a lion personality, he chose to allow hotaku to remain. the cheaper for lion is a direct reflection of the tournament result. if she wasn't cheaper for lion or otherwise somehow usable for lion, then it would purely be winning a storyline tournament for no reward. also, like i said on the AEG boards, thanks tim  i'll be running her. _________________  RUN KEPPO IN YOUR SCOUT DECK!

You don't ask the good question: why the Hell do you want her to go to battle ?
She's definitively better at home, using her ability on both your and opponent turn, staying in defense cause your opponent don't know what she can perform out of your Fate deck.
Use her at home, attack with your others Paragons, and use her ability to nullify a unit you can't take care in battle.
I would play her.

The fact that she's Naval is why she goes to battle. She's 7F, which is the magic number to not auto-die to Final Duty or the Kensai version. We can send her solo and slap the Grateful Reward follower on her to push her to an 8F unit.
