The Swift Sword

As the Right Hand of the Emperor, we Lion strive to uphold our honor to the highest ability while not ignoring our military duties. We are Courageous but not bloodthirsty, Civil and Courteous but not ignorant and naive. It is our Duty to keep the Empire safe from within and without. That said, I'd like to open up a discussion on virtues: which are our most important and which are not represented as well as we like?

I believe Courage to be the defining aspect of the Lion, courage to say what needs to be said and to take what actions that need to be taken. I would concede Duty to the Crab.

Furthermore, if White Lions are still around we need to see lack in ourselves so we may improve upon it. I would be willing to say Courtesy is a virtue Lions do not represent very often. While we respect our enemies on the battlefield I'd be willing to say such respect doesn't follow the samurai off the field.

Any thoughts or debate they would like to bring to the table? Friendly of course!

I disagree that we are not courteous. We are not sycophant that some consider meaning of courtesy but we are respectful of our actions on behalf of the empire and our clan.

I don't want to be a stick in the mud, but I know the white lions are far too courteous to say this themselves, but when you go to the White Lion Dojo and say that the lion is weak in some areas of virtue, it's just kind of silly.

The people who congregate to this Dojo, save for me and a few others; are All White Lions, and are the Very Epitome of All Virtues, and embody the very ideal of Bushido. You will not a single soul in this place that does not excise every virtue to the best of his abilities.

But if you ask where the Lion Clan is lacking as a whole, I'd say no where, with this Dojo in tact, I honestly believe we will never fall from grace. Not with the White Lions beside us.

Ah, I understand where you are coming from, but I would humbly disagree but say that the White Lions strive to epitomize all virtues as none are perfect save the Divine Empress. Perhaps I am being a realist, but that is my view.

Also thank you for your insight Teal. Would you say others have a different view of Courtesy? There indeed is a difference between Courtesy and a suck up, if I may.

True and a "suck up" is more likely to give false courtesy which is against honesty. If anything we show our courtesy with our blunt honesty.
