Happy with most of what I see there... But whats with the guidance? I can use the favor (that I may or may not have) to send home a defending unit? LAME. Or I can sack it for a melee 4? Lamer. Good thing there are some useful celestials out there to run in its slot.

well, after having the best guidance throughout celestial arc, it is natural that anything less should strike as underwhelming, although it could be useful. What does strike as underwhelming is the return of akodo dosei, a personality which was never played throughout celestial arc and I have serious doubts as to whether he will see play even in early emperor.

I like the guidance for paragon's, for the other themes it's a melee four attack. Unfortunately, Dosei might have to get played just to flush out the paragon deck at the start of the arc.

In most cases I would prefer Ebisu's Honesty, Fukurokujin's Wisdom, Jurojin's Blessing or Ryoshun's Guidance.
Btw. I am really happy that "Motso" is now Samurai and that Kano did not become a monk. ;)

First, thanks for everything, Kusamoto-sama. Hope you stay with us outside the admin world!

Second...
...
I don't really understand what the DT was thinking when they did the Akodo's Guidance, I'm sorry, but someone had to say it. I wasn't expecting the original one, but... It's really, really awful, and not what I would expect as the Guidance of the greatest Kami. I'm really disappointed.

Third...
...
Only one printed battle action on the second row of previews.. and it gives 2 battles. Thanks Bishamon, we have the Kitsus, because I don't really see a lot of interactivity with the other themes. 3 tacticians with battle on EE, and the 3 of them are unique. Ok, I understand Paragons need to be nerfed, but tacticians?
Agains, I'm disappointed. I didn't want over-powered previews, but I feel they're really weak. I still see the tools to make winning decks, but not decks to have fun. Except for the Kitsus, again.
It seems as if we're paying the prize of being a top deck all CE. Am I the only one with this feeling?

Eh, there have been a lot of blank guys in EE in the first round of previews. Without seeing what the other clans get in their second batch, it's hard to judge. We might be seeing a trend towards fewer printed battle actions overall, at least in the base set.

Still, pretty disappointed with this round.

The follower is solid, but I would like it better at -1f -1gc. Really only good for the Paragons anyway.

I don't see much reason to play the guidance over Ryohun, Benten, or Jurojin.

A Paragon's Strength is a nice card for right now. I thought that maybe the Scorpion getting Paragon's as a theme would mean the honor loss for the Ranged Attack would be lower. Still, we have so much other honor gain in the Paragon's deck that it should be able to safely use the kill action. If not, it's still a unit send home that works against almost anyone.

The guy who passed up being clan champion is a 2/4? Good thing he passed. Very disappointed with the lack of creativity with Kano's card. The fact he doesn't need to bow to make the Master token does ramp up his utility considerably. They should have just removed the token parts though. Then he could be used on his first defense. I was really hoping he would tie in with the Ancestor deck. Still, he's usable. Paragons might like him as filler, since they will usually get the honor requirement and he offers pretty nice tempo. Nice combo with Brothers in Battle, for instance.

The Kitsu is very good. Once the deck gets some more ancestor creation, I think she'll be a key part.

Gohei is not that great anymore, but I think he will find use at the beginning of the arc as filler. At 2gc, he's not terrible as the last three peeps to go in your deck, at least right now.

Most of the rest of the cards aren't really worth comment.

The Kitsu triggers the dishonor holding. That makes the Kitsu deck vulnerable to another kind of meta, which I don't particularly like.

The action on our guidance is essentially the RA on Siege Volley, considering we haven't seen any RA meta for the base set.

These previews are bland as crap. This is exacerbated by the mediocrity of holdover personalities from BtD and SC. We have a very limited selection of cross-over personalities. We will not be going into battles early arc with better printed actions, and I'm not seeing our card draw prospects being strong outside of Eternal Victory Dojo.

Incorrect, her ability says you MAY cause the honor loss to your opponent, you don't have to do it.

Your right about the rest though.

No BV preview in the Lion listing? Did I miss one in the other clans preview.
As it stands we only have one that can be reused by Akodo Tezuka. Brother in Arms ok but lacking for the this person action.

Terrains are still kind of Meh and are better for tactictians. Stop killing our beloved ancestors for everything lol
